Experienced Bartender

Full Time Hours
 

We are Little Lagos, Australia’s first Nigerian Bar & Bistro and we are looking for an amazing bartender for our venue on Enmore Road, Newtown. We have had a fantastic response from the community since opening our doors earlier this year and we are now looking for someone to help us step our bar game up to the next level. 

 

We are currently on the hunt for cocktail lovers with proven hospitality record to join our team and assist in the running of the bar. A knowledge & passion for beer, wine, spirits & hospitality is essential. Ideal candidates should also be efficient multitaskers and good communicators, with a positive can-do attitude and a fun & enthusiastic demeanour. 

 

As part of this role your responsibilities will be to:

• Contribute to the efficient running of the bar 

• Provide customer service experience from the bar and floor. 

• Help maintain a clean and safe working environment for both our guests and team. 

 

And exhibit the following attributes: 

• A keen interest & knowledge of cocktails as well as beer and wine

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• A positive, friendly and fun manner 

• A natural ability to engage with our local community & regular guests

 

To fulfil the role, the successful candidate will also have: 

 

• Responsible service of alcohol certificate 

• Minimum of 1 year of bar experience in a fast paced environment

• Cocktail making experience

• Excellent verbal communication

• Flexibility in availability to work within the venue’s operation hours, including Friday and Saturday night

Cook

Full time or part-time hours available

 

Little Lagos is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cook to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of Australia’s first Nigerian Bar and Bistro and to join our small but growing family. 

 

As part of this role your responsibilities will be to:

• ​Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality

• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment

• Preparing and cooking food

• Seasoning food during cooking

• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes

• Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities

• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements

• May plan menus and estimate food requirements

• May train other kitchen staff and apprentices

 

We require flexibility and availability to work within the venue’s night time operation hours, including Friday and Saturday nights. 

 

The successful candidate will ideally have knowledge of West African food and preparation techniques.

Front of House / Wait Staff 

Full time / Casual 

 

Little Lagos is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic front of house/floor staff member to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of Australia’s first Nigerian Bar and Bistro and to join our small but growing family. 

 

As part of this role your responsibilities will be to:

 

• Work in a busy venue with a great front of house team

• Develop, expand and challenge your knowledge of Nigerian cuisine as well as our drinks menu 

• Serve food you can be proud of from a strong kitchen team

• Be an outstanding multitasker and serve and chat to customers simultaneously whilst keeping the floor running smoothly and cleanly at all times

 

To fulfil the role, the successful candidate will also have: 

 

• Responsible service of alcohol certificate 

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a fast paced environment

• Bar experience desirable but not essential

• Excellent verbal communication and friendly manner

• Flexibility and availability to work within the venue’s operation hours, including Friday and Saturday night
